Prepare for Camp

We’re so excited that you’ve chosen to camp with us! Girl Scouts has nearly 100 years of experience in providing excellent, safe camps for girls, and we will do everything to make sure your camper has a great experience this year.

If you are attending troop camp or one of our council-run resident camps, please follow the steps below. For day camp and our volunteer-run resident camps, please note that the camp organizers will reach out to you about preparing for your session.

  1. Complete required camp forms.

Girls will not be able to check-in for their stay at camp without a complete Record of Health Exam form and CampDoc health profile. You'll also want to bring along any special, program-specific waivers that are required for your camper (they'll be emailed to you with your registration receipt).

  2. Get packing!

Use our packing lists and Preparing for Camp Guides (2020 versions for Bothin, Hidden Falls, Skylark Ranch, Sugar Pine coming soon!) as a starting point to ensure your camper has everything she needs for her stay.

  3. Map your route.

Make sure to review the driving directions for the camp you'll be attending (which you can find in your camp's Preparing for Camp guide). For Sugar Pine and Skylark Ranch, make sure you've triple-checked your bus drop-off and pick-up locations!

  4. Pencil in your check-in and check-out.

Review our check-in/drop-off and check-out/pick-up times and procedures and write them down somewhere you'll remember (and it wouldn't hurt to make sure you've got those locations down, too!).

  5. Address your concerns and get her prepared for the best summer ever!

Have you read through our list of common concerns? They'll answer many of your lingering questions about medications, food allergies, birthdays at camp, and more.
