Meet Your Camp Directors

From tide pooling on the Pacific Coast to horseback riding in the Sierra Nevada foothills, our council-run camps offer girls a welcoming space to take healthy risks, discover more about themselves, and explore the outdoors. But let’s not forget the dedicated people who make the magic happen each year!

Kristi Doebler - "Gizmo"

Director of Camp Bothin

Hometown: Johnson City, NY

Her Camp Cred: This is my 18th summer working at camp, my 14th with Girl Scout Camp, and my 9th as Camp Director. Having spent 4 summers as the Assistant Camp Director at Camp Bothin (’07-’10), I feel like I am coming home!

Why She's Excited for Camp: There are so many things about camp that I love, like campfires, being silly, and making new friends. I believe camp is a unique experience for girls because the staff have a passion for helping girls grow in a supportive and caring environment, and that every adult on staff, no matter their role, is there to provide girls with an extraordinary time.

Eliz Adem - "Apple"

Director of Camp Skylark Ranch

Hometown: Sunnyvale, CA

Her Camp Cred: This is my 10th summer working with GSNorCal camps. I went through the CIT program at Skylark Ranch and am so excited to be returning as the Camp Director for another year!

Why She's Excited for Camp: As a former classroom teacher, I understand the responsibility in taking care of the whole child and take pride in mentoring and developing staff members to be well-trained caretakers and engaging and positive role models. I am looking forward to Camp 2019 to continue to see our girls continue to take healthy risks, try new things, and grow into more confident and independent versions of themselves.

Kim Connon - "Hollywood"

Director of Camp Sugar Pine

Hometown: Taunton, MA

Her Camp Cred: This is my 14th summer working in camp! I spent several years directing and overseeing Girl Scout Camps in Massachusetts, and have also been fortunate to experience working with other fantastic organizations as well. I’m so excited to be joining Girl Scouts of Northern California this year as the director at Camp Sugar Pine.

Why She's Excited for Camp: I love everything about camp, especially cookouts, swimming, and all-camp games. Most of all, I love that camp is a place where girls develop their voice and compassion, and that camp is a supportive and exciting place that facilitates growth, friendship, and laughter. The community aspect of camp is the most valuable part of the experience, and I am looking forward to seeing all the good it does for girls this summer.
